There are many different laser hair removal offers available, and they vary greatly.

In general, only the financial argument is highlighted. ​

It is important to understand that commercially attractive offers often conceal poor quality practices.

​

The right questions to ask are:

Will the hair removal be carried out by a doctor and under their supervision? 

Will the hair removal be performed with a real laser (and which one?) or with low-end ‘flash lamp’ machines?

Does the person who will be performing the hair removal have the necessary medical knowledge to avoid serious problems?

Is your skin at risk of burns? And will the right laser be used for your skin colour?

Many commercial hair removal chains, some of which have hundreds of branches across Europe, work with beauticians (or even people with no qualifications) who use flash lamps or pulsed light.

The prices are attractive, but the number of sessions can be as high as 25 for a single area, and the risk of complications is high!

Flash lamps are NOT lasers, which means that they are less effective and pose a higher risk of burns than a real laser, which is much more precise. 

​

​Even financially speaking, advertising low prices of £35 per area means nothing!

One area may correspond to the area between the eyebrows, but if you add the upper lip, that makes two areas, and the chin makes three areas  ... and a full face ends up costing more than at a reputable laser clinic that works with the best lasers and in complete safety for you.

You are also often required to pay for eight sessions in advance (with no possibility of a refund in case of problems).

The most effective laser (approximately 6 sessions) is the ALEXANDRITE laser.

For dark or black skin, it is NECESSARY to use a YAG laser.
